CCS & CHAdeMO Protocol Conformance Testing: How to Reach 600+ Test Cases

Publish Time: 2026-11-06

As global EV adoption accelerates, charging station manufacturers face a critical challenge: ensuring their products comply with regional communication protocols before shipment. For exporters targeting European and North American markets, CCS and CHAdeMO conformance is non-negotiable.

Shenzhen Xinglong Technology has developed dedicated protocol simulators integrated into its EVSE testing platforms. These simulators enable manufacturers to execute over 600 protocol conformance test cases, covering the complete charging communication sequence from handshake and parameter configuration to fault simulation and session termination.

The key advantage of an integrated protocol testing approach is repeatability. Rather than relying on actual vehicles for validation—which introduces variables like different BMS implementations and firmware versions—engineers can run standardized test scripts that isolate charger behavior. This is particularly valuable during R&D phases and end-of-line verification.

For manufacturers preparing for export, protocol conformance testing should be scheduled before type testing and certification. Catching incompatibilities at the protocol layer reduces the risk of failing laboratory tests later, which can delay market entry by weeks or months.

Xinglong‘s testing platforms support both CCS and CHAdeMO simulation, with an architecture designed to accommodate future protocol updates through firmware upgrades. This ensures that a single investment remains relevant as standards evolve.
